Is Playoff Rondo a real thing?

Jake: If it isn’t, can it be? But, really, seriously, it is a thing. Get ready…

Jason: At this point in the season, I have learned not to doubt Rondo in big moments. Or him at all. Or his fans. We saw him play out of his mind last year in Boston, and on all the national TV games, and games against big teams like the Warriors. So why not? Until he shows me otherwise, I will die on Rondo hill.

Rory: I like to think Playoff Rondo was the friends we made along the way.

But seriously, we have no reason to believe otherwise. Rondo led the Bulls to a stunning 2-0 lead over the top-seeded Celtics in last year’s playoffs before getting injured. He has shown flashes of being that guy for New Orleans, and it is probably a save assumption that he will be the good, hyper-motivated Rondo we all hoped we’d get when the Pelicans signed him last summer. If Rondo is the guy who looks like he knows the Blazers’ playbook better than the Blazers do, Pelicans fans should be in for a fun series.

Alex: It’s real and it’s spectacular. I look forward to seeing Rondo average 15+ assists in each game this series as Portland tries to force Rondo to shoot and he finds cutting Pels for easy buckets.
